- Species: Troll
- Blood Color: Ultraviolet
- Hemospectrum Position: Anomalous, beyond fuchsia, off the visible spectrum entirely
Overview
A male troll built as a loose counterpart to Her Imperial Condesce, not a strict gender-swap. He doesn't sit at the top of the hemospectrum because he was bred for it, he sits outside it entirely. His blood is ultraviolet, a color that shouldn't exist on any troll, caused by a solar flare that disrupted his gene expression while he was still developing in the brooding caverns. Under normal light his blood reads as black, near invisible, only showing its true color under UV light.
Origin
The flare hit during the exact window his caste should have locked in. He wasn't engineered, he wasn't bred, nobody planned him. That's what makes him dangerous instead of just powerful, nobody can explain him and nobody can replicate him.
Key Incident
He found out what he was by accident. While working on one of his weapons, he cut himself accidentally and saw his own blood come out black. He was terrified. He went digging through troll history books trying to understand what he'd just seen, and that's where he learned that his color is forbidden. Not forbidden because it's weak, forbidden because it's a threat to the hierarchy itself.
The Turn
Learning the truth didn't keep him scared for long. He made a choice to fight the fear head-on instead of live folded up under it. He trained harder, started seeking out fights more dangerous than he needed to, and changed as a person, less talkative, more calculating. He kept the disguise, painting over the blood-marks on his suit lining the same way HIC's own bodysuit runs fuchsia trim, but the fear stopped running him.
The Hunt
HIC isn't chasing him blind. The empire has a standing detection system built specifically to catch flare-touched trolls, meaning he isn't the first, and meaning her finding him isn't luck, it's the system finally working as designed. The detection method is radio and EM interference scanning, tied directly back to the solar flare that made him what he is. His paint disguise beats every eye in the empire. It does nothing against a machine.
He gets flagged early and doesn't know it for a long time. The tip-off comes at a jadeblood-run archive he frequents, the same place he found the history books that changed him, a place he uses to blend in among other trolls. New equipment shows up there, dressed up as preservation tech, and it doesn't sit right. He gets close enough to confirm what it actually is without tipping his hand, and keeps his routine exactly the same on the surface while going colder and more careful underneath.
Powers
Tied to UV and radiation. Full power set still being worked out.
The Eclipse
His power spikes during total solar eclipses, an echo of the original flare event. The surge is involuntary, there's no controlling it and no hiding it once the sky goes dark. HIC's forces already know this. They aren't reacting to the eclipse, they're positioned and waiting for it, because it's the one moment guaranteed to give them a clean reading.
First Confrontation
The eclipse hits and his power surges exactly like it always does, and this time HIC's forces are already in place. He ends up fighting her directly. The discipline he built training through the fear finally gets tested for real, and it holds, he surprises her, holds his own, and the fight ends in a draw instead of a clean loss. She disengages not because she has to, but because she was testing him the whole time, gauging whether he's a worthy opponent rather than trying to end him on the spot. She doesn't react with shock to any of it, she already knew exactly what he was walking in.
He walks away from it having survived HIC while fresh out the box, and it doesn't inflate him. He spends it turning the fight over in his head, respecting how outmatched he still is rather than riding the win.
